Fancy a chat?

AnnualLeave.com launched way back in 2009 and since then over 1,800 companies have started using it to manage their employee’s absences. Over that time, we’ve been adding small, incremental updates – evolving the system based on customer feedback.

It’s a really good product, but we never want to rest upon our laurels.

Now, we’re looking to create a version 2 which will include all the great new features that customers have asked for, but which weren’t previously possible. We’re adopting cool new Windows Azure cloud technology, and pretty amazing jquery stuff that didn’t exist in 2008 when we started coding first. All in all, we’ve got better tools and more customer insight than we had when we first launched, and we intend to use it all.

We’re right at the start of our journey – planning what’s going to be in the system that launches in Q4. We’d love to hear your feedback – good and bad – about the current system, and we’d love to hear your ideas for what would make AnnualLeave.com even better for you.

As well as re-reading every customer feedback email we’ve received since 2009, we’ve decided to phone you all. All 1,800 existing customers.

We’re a small team (there are only 11 of us in the company) – and in addition to phoning everyone, we’ve also got to do our day-to-day stuff, so the process might take a while. Don’t be put out if you don’t get a call for a few weeks, but please do expect a call in Q3.

We’ve started brainstorming – the boardroom walls are covered in post-its, and the team are scribbling away and sketching out ideas. We’ll keep you updated with our progress. I look forward to chatting with you over the next few months.

If you’ve got something you want to share with us, please email feedback@annualleave.com – we’d love to hear from you. Thanks!

Sunday Business Post: HR Application for staff leave

We were delighted to be covered in the Sunday Business Post earlier this week.

AnnualLeave.com article in the Sunday Business Post

Sunday Business Post: "AnnualLeave.com will save you money from day one"

The article read:

Dublin company Evolution has launched new software to manage staff leave. Online tracking system AnnualLeave.com caters for full-time, part-time and shift workers. It is provided as a software-as-a-service solution, which allows companies to tailor content based on the type of leave involved.

For example, in addition to annual leave and sick leave, they can also include maternity and parental leave and jury duty.

The application is available free of charge to organisations with ten or fewer employees based in one department and in one location. For organisations with more than ten employees, the cost increases on a sliding scale depending on staff numbers, departments, locations and leave types.

Established in 2006, Evolution is a human resources software company headquartered in NovaUCD, the innovation and technology transfer centre in University College Dublin.

“AnnuaILeave.com is online, affordable, easy-to-use and once it’s set up, you need never worry about employees’ absences again. If you look at the high cost of time and mistakes that are inherent in manual systems, you’ll see that AnnualLeave.com will save you money from day one,” said Alistair Thacker, Evolution’s co-founder.

AnnualLeave.com removes hassle of holiday time

Thanks to TechCentral.ie – Ireland’s Software for Business Blog who gave us this write-up today:

Evolution, the NovaUCD-based human resources software company, has announced the launch of AnnualLeave.com (www.annualleave.com), an application enabling organisations to track their employees’ annual or sick leave with the minimum of time and effort. It is also the first online annual leave system to cater for part-time and shift work employees.

AnnualLeave.com enables organisations to reduce mistakes in administration of annual leave by automatically enforcing parameters set by each organisation. Its flexibility ensures that organisations have complete control over the number of departments and locations covered, and can create other leave types such as maternity leave, parental leave and jury duty. Organisations can also create their own subdomain with a customised login page including branding the system with their own corporate logos.

AnnualLeave.com is provided as a software-as-a-service and is available for free to organisations with 10 or fewer employees based in one department and one location. For organisations with more than 10 employees the cost increases on a sliding scale depending on the number of employees, departments, locations, leave types to be catered for.

Commuting has never been so fun for us

Today our annual leave tracking software was featured in the Metro.  For once we’re delighted that the weather was so bad, hopefully the commuters stuck on the buses and trains had plenty of time to read the Metro cover to cover and spot this on page 18:
